Austin Home Builders Extend Parade of Homes to Save Rough Hollow

The Austin Home Builders Association already held their Annual Parade of Homes at Rough Hollow, but decided to have a second showing. “Dream Homes Become Reality!”, Parade of Homes, an annual tour of homes presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin, as dates have been extended to include: Saturday, June 7 & Sunday, June 8 from 11:00am - 7:00pm

The  Parade of Homes is located at Water’s Edge in Rough Hollow in Lakeway TX, near Lake Travis.

The rumor mill touts problems at Rough Hollow, which include lack of extensive marketing and overpriced homes in a saturated Lakeway market.

Rough Hollow is a prime location for golf, tennis, hiking, flying, scuba diving, sailing, horseback riding and many watersports with access to Rough Harbor Yacht Club and Marina. Great shopping is minutes away at the new Hill Country Galleria and schools feature the excellent Lake Travis School District.

This year’s Parade of Homes builders include:

  • Copperleaf Property Group LLC / website / (512) 402-0900
  • Jenkins Custom Homes, Inc. / website / (512) 402-9222
  • New Austin Homes / website / (512) 918-2655

  • Sterling Custom Homes, Inc. / website / (512) 263-2214 Not Participating in extended weekend

Homes on the tour range in price from the upper $800s to over $4 million. To view artist renderings and descriptions for each home, click on the address below. The actual parade homes seem to be selling relatively well with half sold.

Tickets are purchase at the gate. $12 - adults 18 and over; $10 - seniors 62 and over and children 3 to 17 years.
The Parade of Homes allows visitors to check out the latest in architecture design, interior decorating, pool design and landscape design.

    Hey Dee,
My thoughts were exactly along those of the rumor mill’s when I saw the ad-article in the Homes section of the Statesmen this weekend. From what I’ve read on Sam’s blog, I believe both LS/LN are looking at ~14 months of inventory. Tough times for builders out there, but the infrastructure still hasn’t caught up to all the new households.

There are just too many homes for sale in Lakeway. It is hard to see the situation changing anytime soon when you look at the number of building permits issued recently.

I used to love the “Street of Dreams” up in Seattle when I lived there. It was really a great showcase for builders, landscapers etc… It sounds like you have your own version of this. Would love to see this in Arizona.

I agree with anon, the infrastucture lacks a great deal. Coming and going to Lakeway is more difficult than it should be. I remember having to drive across the top of Manfield Dam, at least that part works well now.
